Training with Faye has completely transformed my relationship with exercise. Before I worked with Faye, exercise had been, at worst, a punishment and at best, a chore. Since school I had felt uncomfortable and self-conscious exercising in public, and it was never something I would do because I actually enjoyed it. However, I knew I needed to improve my fitness, so I started training with Faye as my New Year’s resolution in January 2018. I am so glad I did.
Faye’s approach is very client focussed. She treats you as an individual. She is very knowledgeable about fitness and is therefore able to adapt and alter exercises and routines to suit you. She delivers a tailor-made workout. Faye really takes the time to listen to and understand her clients. Because of this, she knows when I can push myself that bit harder, and when I need to take a break. Faye is respectful, supportive and encouraging, and I always feel better, physically and mentally after our training sessions.
When I first started my training, I used to get incredibly anxious before a workout and I wouldn’t set foot in the gym on my own. Gradually, with Faye’s help, I increased my training. Within six months I ran my first 5K, in public, and enjoyed it. Training sessions have become something I look forward to, and I miss them if I can’t go. I’ve learned to appreciate a huge variety of fitness activities, from running, to weight training, to Pilates.
Training with Faye has opened my eyes to a world of fun activities that I wouldn’t have dreamed of doing before. Last year, my cousin’s Hen Party involved a Ninja Warrior obstacle course. My past self would have hidden at the back of the group and avoided as much as possible. My ‘Trained by Faye’ self, loved it! I attempted all the obstacles, surprised myself by how much I could do and laughed at myself for what I couldn’t. The best thing was that I didn’t feel embarrassed or stupid, I just had loads of fun. In fact, I’m trying to organise a group of us to go back. I’ve also tried paddle boarding and am looking forward to canoeing and sea kayaking this summer.
I recently moved to Barry from Cardiff, and was worried that the extra distance would put me off training with Faye. It didn’t. However tired, stressed or strung-out I am, training always improves things, and I have never regretted a workout. Faye has helped me improve my strength, my stamina and my confidence. Her training has been invaluable and I can’t recommend her enough. Training with Faye is the only New Year’s resolution I have ever stuck to. I think that says it all.
Rosie.
